Another busy quarter is in the books, and now we turn our attention to the Steering Committee election and a lot of industry events coming up. Three (3) members of our Steering Committee are finishing their terms and need to step aside. So, before we go ahead with our quarterly summary, a reminder that nominations to run are open until 5 November, and voting will take place 11-13 November.?Learn how to check your voting representative, nominate yourself, and more here.
And now, our brief catch-up of activities over the last couple of months:
- 33 new participants have joined this quarter— 30 network operators, 1 CDN, and 2 IXPs. Together, they represent 21 countries from all RIR regions, which, once again, proves the global reach of our initiative. Welcome!
- This brings the current total up to 1,157 participants (79 more from the beginning of the year).
- The regulatory conversation was not as intense as last quarter, but there has been an important development from the United States— meet the?White House’s Roadmap to Enhancing Routing Security.
- On the technical side, RPKI implementation has kept us busy again, with (1) an open call to join the Number Resource Organization (NRO)’s?global survey?on the matter (closed on September 12) and?(2) an?in-depth analysis?of the challenges of measuring RPKI implementation with a too optimistic approach
- Surprisingly, we do not have any major incident to report… or maybe we missed something? If you have a routing security incident or issue to share with the community, please tell us!
