It’s Easy to Blame Others

It’s Easy to Blame Others

BLAME.

A five letter word that has control over more lives than one can imagine.

From childhood to your pre-teens. From adolescence to grabbing the reins of adulthood. From climbing the ladder to descending it, we have all blamed someone or the other at some point in our lives.

Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with blaming others for the trauma or pain we have endured as individuals.

A traumatic childhood, a bad break-up, a horrible marriage, an untimely death of a loved one or a toxic work space are a few instances that can make us blame our external environment and others.

This simple act of BLAME, does two paramount things.

It effortlessly shifts our own sense of responsibility from ourselves to our perpetrators.

It seduces our EGO into staying in “safe, similar and repetitive patterns” regardless of how miserable our situation may seem.

Our EGO has one job: to keep us safe and give us a sense of “SECURITY” that will maintain control over our present and future.

It is this false sense of SECURITY that makes us simply put the BLAME on other factors and NOT face ourselves.

Ego screams loudly from the rooftops, “I am in this situation because of YOU.” “I am in pain because, YOU caused it.” “I don’t trust people, because YOU backstabbed me.” “I will inflict pain upon others, because YOU inflicted it upon me.”

Acceptance, however, is a game changer.

Acceptance CREATES awareness.

Acceptance, makes us aware of the pain, denial, adversity, betrayal and all those ugly emotions we want to sweep under the rug and COAXES, PUSHES and yes, FORCES us to acknowledge every second of our experience.

It in turn allows us to CREATE new PATTERNS.

It allows us to maybe, step into unknown waters and CREATE a life we only ever had the courage to dream of but not voice out or imagine as a tangible reality.
