It's Easier Than You'd Think

Finding your dream job is actually less challenging than you would think. I see it happening every week. Clients we work with out there finding amazing roles which truly are their dream opportunities. Clients getting interviews and moving to the next round and the next. Clients are getting offers and negotiating the multiple offers they are receiving.

But like most things in life, there are techniques that work AND ones that don't. And in my experience, very often the stumbling block to getting interviews, moving to the next round, and getting offers is a lack of understanding of the process on the other end. Not really understanding how computers select candidates. Having very little understanding of what recruiters are looking for when they spend 90 seconds reviewing a resume. And being somewhat clueless about what a hiring manager is seeking during an interview. Very often, too, there's absolutely no awareness that to get the offer, you have to impress the behind-the-scenes "higher ups;" the ones who may not interview you but will give the "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" on your candidacy.

My first step with all our clients is to help them understand the process on the other end: to make sure they really understand their audience. It's a basic tenet for communication and critical in the search to find and land your dream job. I do this with a tremendous amount of content delivered on-demand to all our clients. They literally can watch it all at their convenience; pause and replay it when they have the time and space in their schedules for their content. Everything we do is always at the convenience of our clients because we realize they need that flexibility to do this dream job search around their lives and their work.

Here's some of what I cover:

Why people get rejected? There is plenty of research on what drives employers to choose one person over another. And most of this stuff can be learned and adjusted in the approach we take with our interviews. But one aspect, "fit," is super complicated and what I try to do is over the course of a very detailed 50 minute presentation help our clients understand how to communicate their fit for the role. In other words, how to avoid hearing, "you were great but we found someone who was a better fit for the role" in situations where they believe the role was a perfect fit for them!

Offer Negotiation in 7 Easy Steps! There's a ton out there that people say on the topic -- but my approach is to give you it step by step in a way that 100 out of 100 people can do (and have done successfully). It's incredibly easy to follow and incredibly easy to implement. But here's the thing, with us, it's not just here's how you do it. We'll practice and role play until you got it. And we're there behind the scenes step by step with you through the process of negotiating the offers OR offers.

Our clients succeed because our whole organization, every single thing we do, is dedicated to their success. From every minute of content we deliver, to every member of our team, and to our whole approach, we're about one and only one thing: helping the client land their dream job.

  • There's support in there (sure) but it's a whole lot more than cheering people on and keeping them focused!
  • There's giving them strategies that work to get interviews, get offers, and successfully negotiate those offers when they arrive.

And, here's a little secret.

The easiest thing about my job (all of our jobs here at JobMorph) is helping people land their dream jobs. What challenges us is getting the word out to the millions and millions of people out there embarking on a job search today (or having spent months and even years searching with no success). This is why we started this newsletter to get your help to get the word out. And we're so grateful to you and what you have done for us to spread the word and tell our story to those you know.

Thanks for letting everyone know about us. Thanks for spreading our message that:

Finding your dream job is actually less challenging than you would think.
