It's been a while!

Welcome to the twelfth edition of the Quantumics Weekly Roundup. It was great meeting everyone that came down to Big Data London last month! We hope you enjoyed it as much as us and a special shoutout to those who won some great goodies from our stand!

This week, we’re taking a deep dive into Tesla’s new “Optimus” humanoid robot. We’ll also explore the latest news and information in data and AI, business and tech.

Let’s go! ??

Tech News ??

Last week at Tesla’s AI Day, Elon Musk unveiled (a prototype) of his brand new, Optimus, humanoid robot. However, many took to Twitter disappointed as the robot awkwardly walked onto a stage, turned, and waved to the crowd, as the robot was far from Elon’s world changing vision. It is worth noting that the robot is an early prototype, and it’s very likely that additional features (and more human like movement!) will be added in the future. You can meet Optimus for yourself here ??

  • Netflix is forming an in-house game studio to create?original games without ads or in-app purchases. But don’t get excited just yet, the streaming company have said that it will be a few years before the studio releases its first project.
  • NASA crashed a spacecraft into an asteroid?earlier this week. The Double Asteroid Redirection Test mission aims to see how much the impact changed the movement of the asteroid, and it’s part of a (super cool!) planetary defence experiment.

Big Data London! ????

We had a great time last week meeting everyone who came down to Big Data London! Thanks to everyone who came down to support, and well done to those who won some great prizes playing the picker wheel at our stand!

Data Titbits ??

  • Meta's new system,?Make-A-Video, can create videos from rough descriptions of a scene. The clips are only up to five seconds long and contain no audio.
  • Google showed off a bunch of new ways for people to search the internet at its annual Search On event. The company has been trying to find?more natural and visual ways?for people to search and get results.

Market News ??

  • Safe to say, it’s been a rollercoaster of a month for the UK economy, here’s a rundown of what’s been happening,?according to the BBC.

That’s everything for now, catch you next week!
