It's been a while...

17 years ago today, I started in my role as an EA at Grant Thornton Australia. In the beginning I didn't think I would stay long in the role, maybe a few years.... but now 17 years has passed! Time has flown by so quickly and there is never a day that is the same, there is always something on the go! I have been able to dive into so many things that have continually challenged me and put my skills to test.

Reflecting back, I have seen many changes within the company and have met some talented people along the way. I have experienced major life events and have always had the total support of 6 incredibly unique and talented Partners who really are the main reason why I love doing what I do each day - they allow me to be me; to speak my mind and tell them "like it is"; to support them each and every day not only as their EA, but also as their strategic partner:

Paul Banister - 17 years of being your EA! It's gone so quickly and I still cannot believe how long it has been, it feels like only yesterday that I started! Every day we continue to learn from each other and you allow me the freedom to continually grow in my role and always set me with challenges to meet. The days are definitely never dull with you! We may drive each other insane some days, but even on the days when things aren't quite 100% we always find something positive in the situation.

Sian Sinclair - Thanks for letting me go mad at you when you get over excited and go crazy clicking buttons on your computer! You are one of my less demanding Partners to take care of and are always there when I need a chat.

Tim Hands - Thank you for always challenging me to think outside the square and push the boundaries! If I'm in a rut and feeling a "little stale", I know that you will always have a way to get me out of my funk and to rise to a challenge.

Adam Alexander - Thanks for being my level headed Partner who is always there to listen when I need someone to just have a rant with - you add a little touch of "zen" when "angry me" starts to rear her head.

Peter Parsons - Thanks for always being willing to try something new that I want to implement from a webinar I've listened to or read about. You are my crash test Partner!

Tony Windle - Thanks for being my "Claytons Partner" - the Partner that I support but never really see! Even though we don't see each other that much, we've still got a great bond and I know I can always get a laugh from you!

And I haven't forgotten Morag Ingham, Chris Dunne and George Bendall - 3 emerging leaders who I have the privilege to also support and help on their career growth path!

To the rest of the Brisbane Tax Team and the other awesome team members in various parts of the company both in Brisbane and Interstate, you've all been a part of this incredibly long journey and here's to many more days of fun, friendship and riding the roller coaster where we try to bring out the best of each other each and everyday!
