It's been a tough one (who needs a re-calibration?)

This week's been a tough one.
As I write these lines from my desk I cannot hold but look at this quote that I have printed and stick on the wall so I see it every day. Is from Napoleon Hill's bestseller (you guessed it ??) Think & Grow Rich and it goes like this,
A WINNER NEVER QUITS AND A QUITTER NEVER WINS.
Every time I feel down or I feel out of focus, this is the book that I get back to. I open it where my intuition guides me and I read what's in front of me.
On Tuesday I felt down. (Yes, I feel that way too at times.) I opened the book and by divine intervention, I landed right on page 68 in my copy.
Now, I've read this book hundreds of times, I led hundreds of people through it, I coached people in the application of these principles and I have highlighted big portions of it. I have notes and thoughts on the side of the pages from when I've been through it, but the lines that really stood out for me this time are right from the chapter on Faith and they go like this.
All thoughts which have been emotionalized, (given feeling) and mixed with faith, begin immediately to translate themselves into their physical equivalent or counterpart.
And I reflected upon it. Why does God want me to read this? What's the significance of it?
As soon as I took the pen in my hand, two thoughts came to mind and I jotted them down.
The first thing that came to mind was a perspective I have shared on this very piece as part of this year Think & Grow Rich 14-day challenge and it has to do with the first two words of the paragraph, "ALL thoughts."
He didn't say all positive thoughts. He said ALL thoughts. In other words, your subconscious mind doesn't care. It is impersonal. It translates into reality any command you give to it, whether being positive or negative.
And I'm thinking, "no wonder that I am having a tough day, look at what thoughts I hold in my mind..." It is not the bank that doesn't process my application to open a new account fast enough, nor the authorities that give me heartache with their bureaucracy. It is me. And that's good news. Because it means I can change it. It is in my control.
The second thing that came to mind as I started writing my thoughts was a question one of my mentors asked me once when I was stuck. He asked me, Florin, where did you put your faith?
What he meant with that, a thing I came to realise too is that we can have faith in what we do not want.
There was a time in my life when I had faith that it is gonna be hard for me in Sweden as a foreigner. I believed that it is gonna be tough to build a coaching & training business in a country I didn't have a network nor speak the language. I was more invested in being right rather than getting rich.
So I asked myself, isn't that interesting that as I open this new company and I create multiple streams of income in my life, the story I am gonna tell myself is that it is tough to register the new company from abroad and that it is gone take time?
Is that the truth or is it only my perception? What would be the truth? Well, the truth is that is gonna take as long as it needs to take and that I am gonna do whatever it takes to register it. Because a winner never quits, right?
I don't know about you but I read many books, I listen to tapes, courses, podcasts... however, there are a handful of books I study. Think & Grow Rich is one of them.
I go through it at least two times every year. This year I have been through it twice already and every time I get a new layer of understanding.
I study the application of the principles in it. I apply the principles in my life and I analyse the results I get which become feedback for the process. I reflect upon what could I do differently next time and I start the process all over again. Every time I get a new level of understanding of how they work.
And as soon as I find something new, I cannot hold but share it with other people. Is like a great restaurant you've been to. You now share it with all your friends, "You gotta try this!" You even take them there.
For me, Think & Grow Rich has been my go-to book for the last seven years. Every time I felt lost, overwhelmed or confused, I went back to it and it helped me reconnect with my purpose and my goals so I stay singularly focused for a period of time.
I feel many people struggle with staying focussed and committed to one course of action in today's global environment where we are bombarded with so many negative news and so many distractions that fight for our attention.
That's why we decided to host another Think & Grow Rich Challenge, we call it Mid-Year Energy Recalibration Challenge where we will use these powerful principles to re-connect with our purpose and our goals. Stay tuned for more information really soon. ??
