It's Been a Minute...

It's hard to believe that it has been two years since I last made a newsletter for you all. That is going to change today. I want to share an update with you on where I'm at in life and some things I've learned over these past few years.

Since my last post, I obtained a new position at ERIE Insurance. I am an Agency Recruiting Manager. Together with my great peers Krystal Pistone, CIC and Stephen Straub we are responsible for recruiting, vetting, and onboarding agents across our footprint. It has been a big undertaking and sometimes overwhelming, but looking back on the journey, I'm truly loving what I'm doing.

Not only am I helping agents find a new carrier home, I'm also getting to train the best District Sales Managers in the industry. Getting to take my past 8 years of experience and help newer professionals learn the field has been rewarding. The best part of my role is when things finally begin to click and they take off. Nothing beats being told the wins they are having or how great they are feeling. One thing I'm trying to do to help make sure others recognize their success. I'm doing this by sharing with their bosses and others that helped train them the wins they are having. That email typically gets shared with them directly at some point and their responses to being recognized can't be beat.

Outside of work, I'm having fun and enjoying time with my family. Nora just turned 10 and is a beast on the softball field. Nathan isn't in to sports, but we are beating every Mario game and still learning life lessons from it. My wife and I are working on updating our house and making it our forever home. I've also started a side business selling sport cards on eBay. My first month in has gone well but I know I still have a lot to learn.

To put it simply I'm in a good place right now.

It's taken me a long time to feel this "good" feeling. I've used LinkedIn and other social media outlets in the past selfishly looking for views or to help my work life. I've recently changed my strategy and am now wanting to push more life/career advice to help others.

On these social media platforms, I'm seeing more negativity and other things happening that is driving people to become more irritable or unhappy. In my opinion, that is doing all of us more harm than good. We need more positivity on these platforms and less of a focus on the negative.

Going forward, I will be using this platform (newsletter) to talk about insurance, but I will also focus on past career, life, and relationship experiences as well. I want to help others who may be in a rough spot but are too afraid to speak, reach out to someone, or talk about it. If my message relates to you and helps you that is my only goal. If it doesn't and you know who could benefit, please share it.

If there is anything you want help or advice with, drop a comment here or message me. Let's band together and create a more positive environment where we are actually helping one another become better and more confident versions ourselves.

I'll see you next week LinkedIn!
