It’s been a joy to see our wonderful children thriving

It’s hard to believe that nine months have passed since the October 7th atrocities. In many ways, it feels like life has been on hold as we wait for all our hostages and soldiers to come home.

At Migdal Ohr, we have launched the 'Plan for Life' programme to support the 800+ orphans from October 7th. This programme provides both short- and long-term care tailored to their individual needs, ensuring they receive the support they deserve and need in order and rebuild their lives.

We are deeply moved by the success of our annual online match-funding campaign, Light Up An Orphan’s Heart, which raised an incredible £825,000. Our heartfelt thanks go out to our generous donors and supporters who have made it possible to start healing and rebuilding these children's lives, offering them renewed hope for their futures.

As we enter the summer, our facilities have been filled with fun activities and outings for our children and youth. From water sports and day camps to Master Chef cooking challenges and paintballing, it’s been a joy to see our wonderful children thriving, especially after the hardships of the past months and all is thanks to your generosity!

Let’s continue to pray together for a more peaceful remainder of the year.

Am Israel Chai!

We were honoured to welcome a surprise and esteemed guest, Netanel Sharf, Migdal Ohr’s Alumni and one of our success stories, to our recent event. Netanel came to Migdal Ohr as a child, where his love for music and singing flourished. Guests had the opportunity to experience Netanel as he soulfully sang “Am Israel Chai” and other beautiful songs. It was a wonderful experience, with the entire audience joining in, arm-in-arm, dancing in unity for Israel. There was a very strong sense of Am Israel Chai in London.

Mishpachonim (Foster Care Family) Master Chefs

As the school year draws to a close, Metivta has been bustling with excitement. A highlight was the Mishpachonim Master Chef event, where students showcased their culinary skills in a friendly competition. This event beautifully reminded us of the importance of fostering creativity and practical skills, highlighting the joy of community and celebrating achievements. We are grateful for our students' dedication and the community's support as we reflect on this successful event.

Zoharim Youth Village

Congratulations to our graduating class of young men from Zoharim Youth Village who have grown into empowered and inspired leaders. When they arrived, the majority of them were living on the streets or kicked out of home, aimless where to go. It's mind-blowing to see how the love, guidance and acceptance from Migdal Ohr has renewed their sense of purpose for these young men-at-risk. We wish them all the best as they enlist into the IDF or start their onward journeys.

Foster Care Family Programme

Each of our foster families look after twelve children and teenagers. They all live together, where the foster carers provide practical and emotional support to those children in order to help them thrive and build the skills that they would require for adulthood.

Bridal Fund

Our Bridal Fund Programme helps alumni couples in Israel who do not have the means for even a modest wedding. Covering these expenses helps to alleviate some of the burdens imposed on these young brides-to-be, and our young couples can begin a new life without any additional stress.

Our children are our #1 priority at Migdal Ohr, and they rely on us each and every day. No matter what is happening, we cannot lose focus. With over 12,000 children (including orphans and those at risk) who have faced adversity in need of our services, our mission is essential more than ever. Your support is a lifeline, a promise, and a testament to the boundless potential within every Israeli child in need.
