It's amazing what can come out of effective teamwork!

I was delighted to be asked to give support to James Bishop (Koru Consulting) for a team building session with a great group of people last week. It re-emphasized to me the value that is created from effective team work and the huge difference it makes to have a professional facilitator to get the most from the team building activities.

James was amazing as always and did a fantastic job to get people to understand, in such a simple yet profound way, different personality types. Then to take this onwards and show them how to apply this in a team situation - to see the positive energy each personality type can bring into the team, as well as things they may need to control a bit, like being too bossy or chatty. 

It was so great to see the teams start out with a blank flip chart or bits of paper and create something imaginative and quite beautiful from good team work.

 The objectives of the session included:

·        Deepening the connecting with other parts of the business and regions

·        Appreciating each other’s strengths and allowable weaknesses

·        Considering the vision statement and our role in achieving it

·        Connecting with the recently crafted company values and understanding what it means to each of us

These were all achieved in a fun way that was still quite challenging.

What was of most interest to me was the interaction within the teams and how much better the result when everyone participated and was heard in an encouraging environment. It was so great to have been part of this, thanks James!
