Nice and close - in under 3hrs you could be soaking up the history and culture of a classic Maltese gem such as Valletta. Malta is too often overlooked as a Mediterranean destination, yet it has so much to offer, fabulous hotels, stunning coast lines and a fascinating story to tell; with average temperatures of around 20 degrees in November, you can certainly enjoy a bit more T shirt weather.

Like it a bit hotter – take a look at Cuba. With a nine hour flight you could be ‘Novembering’ on the beaches of the north coast, in glorious 28 degrees. Varadero is probably Cuba’s top beach destination and it’s easy to understand why, with a 13 mile-long peninsula of white sands and clear blue seas. Havana too makes a wonderful adventure during any visit to Cuba, with its wonderful Hispanic architecture and vibrant culture.

Seeking sanctuary – if you really want to leave your worries behind and make sure your toughest decision of the day is which cocktail to choose, take a look at Maafushivaru, a small and very romantic Maldive Island. Just 350m long it has two wide beaches and a breathtaking lagoon to snorkel and swim your days away, before lounging by the side of the infinity pool as the sun gradually sets.
