Organic reach isn’t dead, it just needs a little help. If you’re trying to grow your brand’s reach and followers, you can’t just throw out content and hope for the best. The algorithm is watching, and if you play your cards right, you can use key metrics to give your content the boost it deserves.
Are you trying to attract the right audience? Let's get into it...
1. The Algorithm’s favourite
Likes and comments are cute, but engagement rate is what tells the real story. This metric considers the percentage of people who interact with your content compared to how many see it. If your engagement is low, your content might not be resonating or worse, it’s not reaching enough of the right people. Tip? Spark conversations. Use stronger CTAs, encourage saves, and reply to every comment like your life depends on it. Tell people what you want them to do when they land on your post.
2. Are you even being seen?
If you’re focusing solely on followers but ignoring reach, you’re missing the bigger picture. Reach tells you how many unique accounts see your content, while impressions count the number of times it’s viewed. If your reach is stagnant, it’s time to rethink your content strategy and use trending sounds, collaborate with micro-influencers, and experiment with new content formats. You've literally got nothing to lose but perhaps gain a lot more eyes on your content.
3. The silent growth drivers
Saves and shares are like a secret handshake with the algorithm. When people save your content, it signals high value. Shares? Even better. This is the digital version of word-of-mouth marketing. If your content isn’t getting saved or shared, add more value think carousels, infographics, and insightful posts that people need to come back to. Series are a game changer and sooooooo underused!

4.Quality over quantity
A sudden spike in followers looks nice, but are they the right audience? Track who’s following you. Are they engaging, or just ghosting? A healthy growth rate comes from content that speaks directly to your ideal audience. Focus on clarity: Who do you want to attract? What problems can you solve for them?
5. Are they taking action?
If your captions or bio have links, you need to check if people are actually clicking. Low CTR? Maybe your CTA is too weak, or your content isn’t compelling enough. A/B test different styles and make it obvious what action you want people to take. Story posts use them, and make it creative and fun.
The point is organic content isn’t over, it just needs a push and a drizzle of creativity. With the right metrics in focus, creative freedom, and strategic tweaks, you can boost your audience, increase reach, and actually see real growth. Data doesn’t have to be boring; it’s your secret weapon to social media success.
Every social app has a section with recommendations, stop skipping over it (it's pretty valueable).
Good luck!
