IT'S ALL A PROCESS

Think of all the lessons, skills and experiences you’ve garnered from your work within the marketing world. All making you the capable person/company that you are at this very moment.?

“I don’t feel like I know enough about the workings of marketing. Many things still seem quite vague to me.”

Well, that’s no reason to freak out. It’s rather normal, considering the constant developments in the field. However, if you’re still feeling, after an ample amount of time, that you don’t have the flexibility to cope with everything going on; chances are, you haven’t put yourself in enough situations outside your comfort zone.?

Look at it this way: Marketing is a business’ way of communicating with its audience. If your company aims to market their products and services to a wide spectrum of listeners, ‘you gotta get creative bro’. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, creativity is rarely something we can develop without putting ourselves out there. Much like any skill, creativity comes through the constant practice of putting yourself/your business through experiences you didn’t anticipate dealing with earlier.?

Progress is often a slow process. Marketing is in no means a slow world. So, it’s all up to you. Do you want to move quickly, make mistakes, and learn as you go? Or, do you want to carefully plan each step to minimize potential damage? Both approaches are valid, depending on the situation you’re facing. Sometimes, you need to trust the process. Other times, you need to create a whole new process and make it work.
