It's all about people...

As we are setting ourselves up for a good strat in the new year and as I am preparing for the next chapter in my career journey, I wanted to share with you some reflections on my 20 years of career.

The one feeling that is filling me right now is deep gratitude to Danaher and all the great people that I got the chance to meet in the different Opcos I worked in.

There are more people than I can name that I would like to thank. To all my collaborators across my Danaher journey, thank you for the little or big pieces that you added on my road and that contributed to shaping who I am right now.

From Pall Corporation where it all started for me with the acquisition of the GeneDisc startup, to Molecular Devices where I grew in leadership, to now Leica Microsystems , I have been proud to wear each of their colors and live, in each of these companies, the deep purpose of Danaher: “Accelerating science and technology to improve human health”.

I still very well remember when I first got exposed and trained on DBS after Danaher acquired Pall in 2015, how much I was amazed but the system’s power and potential to positively impact businesses. More than a toolbox or a mindset, DBS is to be lived. It is “common sense rigorously applied”. This statement resonated very well with me, and I tried my best to continuously learn, coach and apply it diligently for this past 10 years. I have been delighted every year to see how much impact it generated on our growth and our ability to better serve our customers. I also apply DBS in my daily life! Recently, it helped me a lot with my mother who spent the last 4 months in intensive care. I established with her a 7 steps strategic planning to recovery. Each step was defined by targets, and we used daily visual management to check the progress of KPIs toward reaching every milestone… Now she is out and she tells me that it helped her focus on what was critical to her rather than being overwhelmed by the too many things that needed to be fixed.

...To my team members. I am so proud of each of you and the strong team that we formed. You’ve been able to build and convey the story of Leica’s business excellence, empowering our associates and being the voice of our customers. Thank you for your expertise, strength and trust all this way. I also loved your kind farewell words. Keep it up team… you really walk the Leica vision “To reveal the invisible and empower our customers to create a better and healthier world”

...To my boss James O'Brien for trusting me and providing me with the support I needed that finally translated into great impact. Thank you for your leadership that helped me evolve and develop my strategic mindset and for your friendship whose warmth helped me a lot in some personal and sometimes professional challenges.

...To our Leica president Annette Rinck for your inspiring leadership and relentless effort to make Leica the most diverse and inclusive place to work and setting it at the top of the life sciences breakthrough solutions providers. To Markus B. Lusser our former president for providing me with the opportunity to integrate this amazing company and his trust pushing me take transformational initiatives.

...To all the wonderful female leaders I have been blessed to work with and in particular to Vanessa Lurquin , Emmanuelle Généreux , Vibeke Wollebekk , Jana Sauer . You’ve inspired me every day and I enjoyed working on business or DE&I projects with you, having fun, changing the world. Thank you for your support, your presence and for being such authentic women.

At our Life Sciences platform and at our organization level, I have been priviledge to work with amazing leaders. I would like here to thank in particular

... Greg Milosevich , for hiring me at Molecular devices in the first place and always being so inspirational to me with your amazing business-oriented mindset and transformative vision.

...to our Danaher CEO Rainer Blair who acted as a role model to me and literally shaped my whole vision of leadership at the time I got the opportunity to work for him at Pall Corporation. Thank you sir. Your mentorship, authenticity and passion have deeply impacted my leadership style and how I set up expectations to myself and teams.

This has been a long post but, I really wanted to express my sincere gratitude here.

In a nutshell, Danaher Opcos provided me with wonderful growth opportunities and the chance to meet with inspiring leaders, to lead engaged and impactful teams and to walk the talk in anchoring Diversity, equity and inclusion deeper each day in our culture.
