It’s All About Mindset: How I Overcame Life’s Greatest Challenges and How You Can Too
Life has a way of testing us. Sometimes, those tests come in the form of everyday struggles—relationships, financial setbacks, disappointments. Other times, they come as full-blown crises—betrayal, loss, failure, even life-threatening illness. If there’s one thing I’ve learned through my own journey, it’s this:
It’s All About Mindset.
I’ve faced challenges that could have broken me. I’ve been through two failed marriages. I’ve been betrayed in business, experiencing corporate embezzlement that cost me everything I had built. I’ve been dragged into frivolous lawsuits, tested in ways that made me question everything I believed about fairness and justice. And just when I thought I had seen it all, life threw me its biggest challenge—stage 4 pancreatic cancer and non-small cell lung cancer.
But through every single battle, I found a way to not only survive but to rise above. And I’m here to tell you that no matter what you’re facing, you can too.

The Power of Perspective
When I was diagnosed with cancer, I had a choice. I could focus on the statistics—the ones that said I had a slim chance of survival. I could allow fear to take over. I could give up.
Or, I could fight.
And fighting wasn’t just about medical treatments. It was about mindset. It was about choosing to see myself beyond the illness. I refused to let a diagnosis define me. Instead of focusing on the disease, I focused on healing. Instead of worrying about what I couldn’t control, I focused on what I could—my thoughts, my energy, my environment.
But here’s the thing—this mindset didn’t start with cancer. It started long before that.
When my businesses were stolen from me, I had to decide: Would I stay bitter, or would I rebuild??When my marriages failed, I had to ask myself: Would I dwell on the past, or would I learn and grow??When I lost everything financially, I had to make a choice: Would I see myself as defeated, or would I see it as an opportunity to start fresh?
And every single time, I chose to move forward. I chose to believe that the best was yet to come.
Because mindset matters.
Faith: My Anchor Through Every Storm
Through all of this, my faith in God has been my anchor. I firmly believe that I wouldn’t be here today without His strength guiding me through each battle. There were moments—especially during my cancer fight—when I had nothing left to give, when my body was weak, my mind exhausted, and the weight of the challenge felt unbearable. But in those moments, I turned to God. I prayed for strength, for wisdom, for healing. And time and time again, He reminded me that I was never alone.
Faith doesn’t mean the journey is easy. It doesn’t mean you won’t have moments of fear or doubt. But it does mean that no matter how uncertain the road ahead may seem, you can walk forward knowing that there is a greater plan, a higher purpose, and a God who never leaves your side. My faith didn’t just help me survive—it helped me thrive. It gave me peace in the middle of the storm, clarity in moments of chaos, and the unshakable belief that I was fighting for something bigger than myself.
Whatever challenge you’re facing, lean into faith. Trust that even when things feel impossible, God is working behind the scenes in ways you may not yet see. Believe that His plan for you is greater than anything you could ever imagine.

How You Can Overcome Any Challenge
Maybe you’re not battling cancer. Maybe your struggle looks different. Maybe you’re going through a divorce, struggling in your career, facing financial hardship, or dealing with a loss that has knocked you off course. Whatever it is, I want you to know this:
The same mindset that helped me overcome my battles is the same mindset that can help you overcome yours.
Here are three principles that have changed my life—and that can change yours:
1. Vision Drives Performance
If you don’t know where you’re going, you’ll never get there. When I was diagnosed with cancer, I didn’t focus on the disease—I focused on the vision of myself healed and thriving. When I lost businesses, I didn’t dwell on the loss—I focused on what I could create next.
Ask yourself: What does success look like for me? What do I want my life to look like on the other side of this challenge?
Your vision must be so strong that it pulls you forward, even on the hardest days.
2. Control What You Can, Let Go of What You Can’t
There will always be things outside of your control. I couldn’t control my cancer diagnosis, but I could control my attitude, my treatment plan, and my belief in healing. I couldn’t control the people who betrayed me, but I could control how I responded to it.
Don’t waste energy on what you can’t change. Focus on what’s in your power—your mindset, your actions, your choices. That’s where your strength is.
3. Surround Yourself with the Right Energy
Your environment matters. The people you surround yourself with, the messages you consume, the words you speak—all of these things shape your reality.
During my cancer battle, I made a choice to eliminate negativity. I surrounded myself with people who believed in my healing. I spoke words of faith, not fear. I filled my mind with hope and possibility. And that made all the difference.
Look around your life right now. Are the people in your circle lifting you up or dragging you down? Are your thoughts serving you or sabotaging you? If you want to change your life, start by changing the energy you allow into it.

A Challenge for You
Whatever you’re facing today, I challenge you to shift your mindset. Instead of asking, Why is this happening to me?, ask, What can I learn from this? Instead of seeing obstacles, see opportunities. Instead of dwelling on the problem, focus on the vision of what’s possible.
I stand here today—not just as a survivor, but as someone who has faced some of life’s toughest battles and come out stronger every time.
And if I can do it, so can you.
Because at the end of the day, no matter what life throws at you…
It’s All About Mindset.
