It's all in the Mind! it's my Story

Falling from a height of 40 feet, and breaking 40+ bones with collapsed lungs, multiple Rib and Vertebrae fractures, shattered pelvis, hematoma, distal femur fracture, broken ankle, acute respiratory failure, stress hyperglycemia, acute blood loss anemia, reactive leukocytosis?and hemorrhagic?shock.?I was determined to?have a high probability of?imminent life-threatening clinical deterioration. Fixing me was not easy, as identifying the issues itself were nerve racking for various surgeons in the OSU trauma care. It was determined that I would require assistance with functional mobility for a very long term and will be requiring physiotherapy for multiple months or years

?Exactly a year ago, that was my state, not knowing what the remainder of my life would look like. Dependability on wheelchair and family for basic movements was what medical science had predicted for me. But then I refused to hear the science and go with what my mind says! to bounce back harder.

?But now when I look back after a year, being able to bike for 30+ miles and hike for 13+miles, I feel blessed and decided to tell my story.

?It's easy to advise to be positive, have a strong mind, think good; but when it's about implementing these on yourself that's when the real challenge comes. The body gives away again and again, every time but then "it's all in the Mind”!?

In my experience?the real strength comes from within, which has a key to fix or destroy, and that key is with us. It's up to us which door to open, and if we rightly open then it's all a miracle.?

?This is a note of gratitude from my whole heart to the family who stood with me, for the friends who were just a call away, for the neighbors who were available anytime and the surgeons from OSU Wexner hospital to fix me.

?After a year of full recovery, this all feels like a Miracle and a mind game!?
