It's All About The List
I wish I would have acted on this earlier on my marketing journey... I heard it so often, from all corners of the marketing world...
YOUR LIST IS WHAT MAKES YOUR BUSINESS!
1. Marketing really starts only AFTER you generate your lead, and add it to your list.
- a) Advertising (Paid Or Organic): Gets traffic to your site. Then you must...
- b) Convert this traffic to a lead. And, add this lead to your list
Then you start marketing.
2. Size Doesn't Matter. It's NOT the size of your list that counts. It's the relationship you have with your list that counts. Learn to develop skills to communicate with your leads, your list. The value of your list is really all about the relationship you have developed.
3. Always be consistent in communicating to your list. NOT SPAMMY, but by providing value. If all you do is bombard your list trying to sell them something, you will have lost their attention very quickly.
Many successful marketers tell you to email your list at least once a day.
4. Always Give Value To Your List. Do not just sell to your list, you will lose their attention very fast. Nobody likes to be sold to. BUT, do not only provide value without selling, it will get you no where fast.
5. Learn how to do both at the same time. Give value, AND sell. After all, your leads know you are in business to market, so do it with style and consideration.
6. Be transparent, be credible, be accountable. Don't mess with your list.
