It's all in the eyes of the beholder

We all know that beauty is a subjective term . It varies from person to person how they perceive beauty in someone or something. It's not at all necessary that if one person finds anything beautiful and admirable, that same thing would be beautiful or admirable and of the same intensity to another person ! Sometimes, what's adorable for one may be disgusting for another ! The sense of beauty is transient in nature. It is impossible to judge beauty objectively. Here , the observer is supposed to decide about the beautiful /not-so-beautiful /ugly aspect of anything. In fact, beauty is merely the creation of the observers and doesn't have its own existence. This is what is meant by the idiom, 'beauty is in the eye of the beholder'. It was first used in 1878 by Margaret Wolfe Hungerford in her book "Molly Bawn" in the way its meaning is perceived today.

David Hume’s subjective philosophy on beauty :- “Beauty is no quality in things themselves: It exists merely in the mind which contemplates them, and each mind perceives a different beauty. One person may even perceive deformity, where another is sensible of beauty; and every individual ought to acquiesce in his own sentiment, without pretending to regulate those of others.”

I think the “subjective” element of beauty is simply that each individual human being is a completely unique and unrepeatable thought of God, and the way we perceive the world is also unique and unrepeatable; thus, we will be able to perceive God’s beauty (and the beauty of His creation) in a unique and unrepeatable way. So you may be bored by something that completely takes my breath away with its beauty. This is an expression of our subjectivity, but not a contradiction to the objective quality of beauty. Rather, we as human creatures are limited, whereas Beauty, as an objective reality, is unlimited (“God would be beauty, and beauty God”).

Some example sentences to bring out the meaning and ways of using this idiomatic phrase. I have known the ugliest of people having lovers finding them attractive to the core, for beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say. Smith had always been so choosy, I find it totally unbelievable how he could marry his not-so-lovely looking neighbour, Jane ! Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then the person who is observing gets to decide what is beautiful. A common saying is "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder," which means beauty doesn't exist on its own but is created by observers. Here I am going to share a small story with you all.. I am going to write whole story in present tense..

A girl who is currently pursuing her Graduation in computer science under State university. Only into studies like all her school friends choose different streams and they no longer are together. She is super simple in the way she looks. I mean if I have to define her as “not overly particular about anything, not superficial, not extreme in any aspect of her personality”. That's bit controversial what I just said but I know that girl and she will not mind it because what I am writing is the truth.

It's not like her parents are strict or she belongs to below middle class where she struggles for her survival in the outer society….. No… No….Her family is so supportive in all walks of life. Actually she doesn't know A of styling and fashion and she has in her mind that she is not beautiful. Now you yourself can think this type of mentality cannot take you long way.. You can't make your life positive with a negative mind set. You know that inferiority complex. She was dealing with that from the days she left her school and her uniform. She was much comfortable in her school uniform because with that no comparison takes place. Period.

The college life is obviously different from school.. So, in her Graduation classes she used to sit single and only concentration on her studies due to that so called inferiority complex regarding her looks otherwise she is way confident in her ability to handle projects and presentations but when it comes to looks she started to hide herself in the crowd.. Hard for her to step out.. Few days later, by chance in group discussions she met a group of girls whom she find out very personalised, crazy and joyous from the day 1 of college in her class. Squad of girls who don't bother what other people think about them. And the way these girls present themselves every single day is just astonishing for her. Very pretty clothes, up to the mark eye brows and perfect hair. For her this is the definition of beauty. No.. She was wrong at her thinking level in term of beauty.

How can someone be so perfect.. She thinks.. (Over thinker actually) Always in her dream land and thinking about those fairy tales.. So this girl firstly hesitates to join them but those wild_girls group approaches her & yeah. She have friends now in the college. She have table partners..But She is the only Odd one out in that group. This is her thinking.. Those girls never ever judge her on the basis of face & looks. To overcome her thoughts..

To match herself with others.. She satisfies herself with this process of asking a question about her looks.. Three years passed. Nobody makes her feel like she is the odd one out in the group but unaware of anything she has started to look gorgeous day by day. She herself even not aware that something is changing in her… It's not her makeup kit, her wardrobe or her hair styles.. Actually it's the Glow of the Acceptance She got from those wild girls squad in those 3 years where SHE herself unable to accept her the way she looks!!

???? ??? ???? ??? .. Very True..Good company is also very important in our life. That is why it is spoken ???? ??? ???? ???.. If a person will always be in good company, no matter how big the problem is, it will easily come out of the problem because good company always brings positive feelings and courage. Unknowingly, she understand the meaning of real beauty.

Those wild girls gang respects the real beauty this girl holds. There eyes saw that beauty.. Their heart feel that beauty.. The Real beauty of being grounded, being respectful, being responsible, having a beautiful heart for all the beings she have in her life. Here with this story I want to share about the thoughts that beauty is not the way you look or the way you dress up, tis not in the face. Actual beauty lies within the heart, beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself, the true self..one can't be beautiful without having a kind heart inside your body and a loving soul to have a dual effect of your beauty. Of course don't compare yourself with anyone because inferiority is the cause of depression and it comes from the comparison. Cheers!
