It's all in the ENVIRONMENT !
I am not a seasoned trekker, but last weekend I did go for one. It was tough, it was a moderate type. About 5 hours of trekking, wonderful experience I must say. I was surrounded by silence, greenery, blue sky, water falls and that freshness. I observed that the forest is capable of taking care of itself, it offers everything to it's citizens to live, to grow and to prosper. A forest provides that environment.
For example, an Indoor plant will only survive at a certain temperature and humidity, it wouldn't survive outdoors even if you use a golden pot and hire a full time gardener to look after it. We often wonder why we don't get desired results. I think we do everything except for creating an environment that is suitable for desired results.
Following are a couple of more examples that narrate the importance of environment.
Environment for Innovation: We expect innovation to happen and we expect a manager to bring that out of a team. There are more chances of Innovation happening in a team without a manager than a team with a manager. Innovation needs entrepreneurial setup, ideally there shouldn't be anyone around with yardsticks. Innovations happen when the team or individual is working on some idea with no boundaries, no limits.
Environment for Sales: Good sales can happen when you approach the customer to their problems. Your products or services should be bought by the customer without actually you pushing for it. You and your organization should provide your customer enough time, enough references and enough options to choose from. You need to create an environment in which the customer feels comfortable and ready to make a decision, he should feel he is making an informed decision. Faster you are able to create this Environment, the faster you will close the deal.

Environment for Service Delivery: Service delivery is a highly satisfying profession, you will feel good to see a smile on the face of your customer. You need to create an environment where the customers feel that you are capable of solving their problems and you have lined up deliverables as per agreed schedule and budget. You will be in a big trouble if this environment is not maintained.
I hope this article helps you understand what is missing in your FOREST !
Cheers!!!
