It's all about connection

Hello lovely,

It's all about connection.?

My business.

My travels.?

It's connection.?

That's the common thread.

It was this realisation in 2023 that led to the book and the new business direction. The understanding that this alignment was there all along, I just hadn't seen it.?

It's this connection that keeps me going. I love meeting people and the interactions we have. I'm so curious about people, their culture, their life and what drives them. I just want to know more, see more, experience more - but with people.?

Tonight at my USA book launch, I was reminded of the power of connection.?

Yep, I launched my book in the USA tonight! I'm just going to soak in that one for a second.

I'd been on TV on Thursday on local station for the Rockford, Illinois area, WIFR. I happen to know the head anchor Andy Gannon and asked if I could come on an promote my book - he said sure. It really was that simple (plus a press release that my fab publicist had put together.) We did the interview and I shared it all around. You can watch the whole clip here.?

I also asked on social media for anyone who knows people in this area, and I know a fair few, to share the book event.?

My gorgeous friend and travel writer colleague Danielle Phyland, who happens to be a case study in the book, shared it and even tagged a woman directly. I thought that was so lovely and would be fun.

Well fast forward tonight and Andy walks over with a lovely lady named Gail and says "wait til you hear the story of why she's here."

It was Danielle's friend! Gail! From the facebook tag. She'd come down!

She had met Danielle in Australia many years ago when Danielle was a tour manager and hosted Gail and a school group.

But the connection goes one deeper. Gail has gone on Andy's annual group trips which he runs for the local community, somewhere off in the carribean.

I couldn't stop smiling and hugging this gorgeous woman. What an honour she'd come out to see me and how much synergy there was in our connection.?

This is what the book is about for me. Bringing people together, showing them that life can look different, and feeling inspired to go out there and experience more.?

We're now planning, well I am, to get Andy's group out to Australia and get Gail and Danielle back together. Watch this space. You know me once I have a mission!

Travel has always been about connection for me. And I've been successful in business because of my ability to connect.

So I challenge you today to think;

How can I increase my connections in my own life??

Well, I'm gonna give you one way at least -? or another way!

Yep, I'm keeping this book tour love going and Brisbane is now on the line up for October. Wednesday 16th October at the Rose Room.
