It's all about Bias. Again.

It's all about Bias. Again.

So when I was a masters student @HIT, I was one of the very few female students, with a faculty which was dominantly male, I found comfort in one of my professors, a female electronic engineer, who worked closely with the US Navy and was a complete badass when it came to development, design, and algorithms. A true role model who succeeded where many didn’t even try, in a time where female engineers were considered to be an urban myth.

In one of her sessions, she recommended @Sheryl Sandberg's “Lean in” as a must-read.

And I've been a keen follower since.

Every year, for the past 5 years, The Lean In organization and McKinsie release their annual report on women in the workplace update, with very interesting and alarming statistics.

This year, the report is encouraging, on one hand, however, on the other hand, it reveals a huge par that can easily be overlooked and create an even larger gap which will be very difficult to fill.

We wrote a blog post about this, with the results, remedies, and hopes for an equal and bright future ahead:
