It's 2019 - but is your business there yet?
Already I have spoken to dozens of people who are living in 2019 but there business is still in 2018...or earlier. Why do I say this? It is because of the rapid advancement of marketing technology and the lack of education on what this technology can accomplish.
Now you may be a technical guru or have one on staff and know about all the latest marketing tools. Or, you may employ a SEO company that is supposed to keep your website right at the cutting edge. But, I've made hundreds of calls to mortgage companies, real estate offices, law offices, financial planner offices and the list goes on. A common thread I find is these offices have "heard" of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Smart Pixels, Identity Resolution and responsive websites. Unfortunately, most of these businesses have only "heard" about them but have failed to do anything about them for their own businesses. They are still in 2018, or '17, or '16 or.....earlier.
Today, consumers don't just search the web on their computer. They also use their smart phone or tablet. Yet, so many of the businesses I have spoken with do not have responsive websites that enable them to detect the visitor's screen size and orientation and change the layout accordingly. This one modification alone can make the difference as to whether a potential customer shops with you or goes back online to find a device-friendly website offering the same product or service.
Another thing I have noticed in my calls is that most business people have heard of Artificial Intelligence but that's about as far as it goes. AI has all sorts of uses for 2019. But one of the biggest fields of its deployment in 2019 is its use in Identity Resolution. The company can then do two things with the information: 1. They can re-market to the visitor AND, 2.
