Online monitoring with real-time feedback to quality deviations

Visitors seeking real-time monitoring solutions are encouraged to stop by Lenzing Instruments’ booth for a demonstration of the PROMPT online concept.


Incorporating various single sensors, the PROMPT concept provides continuous monitoring of essential yarn properties including diameter, interlace, tension and spin finish, along with the detection of defects such as broken filaments and fluff. For defect detection, the optical sensor PROMPT OLO yields real time feedback about any deviations from set quality criteria.

The PROMPT OLO combined with a high-resolution camera forms the DEFECT VIEW unit. This setup ensures thorough analysis through reports that, apart from detailed information about defects and their precise location along the yarn, also include images of the detected defects.


DEFECT VIEW


If used together with a yarn take-off unit, DEFECT VIEW can be applied for offline application in the laboratory with PROMPT LAB. This is also the case with the ELKOMETER 200 for offline use: PROMPT OLO sensors monitor up to eight yarn packages simultaneously for yarn characteristics and defects. ELKOMETER 200 features a special defect assessment mode which can be selected to trigger the yarn motion to be stopped immediately after detection. This enables human inspection of the defects for thorough study of any identified anomalies. Image capturing with the high-resolution camera system DEFECT VIEW is optionally installed at one of the positions. For monitoring of yarn tension and relative spin finish content, PROMPT OLT and PROMPT OLF are the perfect tools.


ELKOMETER 200


Flexible online spin finish control

The OPUMETER is a handheld device designed for quick, real-time checks of spin finish content (%OPU / % FOY) directly on the running filament yarn. With immediate feedback, it detects deviations within seconds, allowing timely responses to issues such as air bubbles or faulty equipment. Unlike traditional lab methods, the OPUMETER eliminates the need for sample preparation or consumables, offering a cost-effective solution. Its sensor, based on conductivity technology, delivers accurate measurements directly at the spinning position, with results transmitted via Bluetooth.

Fluid management testing of nonwovens

Critical performance tests for nonwoven coverstock, particularly in hygienic applications, focus on key indicators such as liquid strike-through, rewet, and run-off. Lenzing Instruments addresses all three with the LISTER AC, WETBACK, and RUNOFF systems.

These instruments are designed in compliance with INDA/EDANA standards, ensuring reliable and reproducible feedback on the fluid management properties of nonwoven materials. For customers with higher testing volumes, the newly introduced LISTER AUTO is an ideal solution. Built on the same technology as the LISTER AC, this system offers automated and simultaneous testing of the liquid strike-through time of up to five nonwoven specimens, with an integrated timer ensuring precise results even during repeated tests
