ITC Vegas 2024: A Premier Hub for Insurtech Innovation, Networking, and Industry Insights

I’m excited to be attending #ITCVegas next week. It’s always been a highlight on the calendar ever since I first attended the conference in 2022. The shear scale of the conference is mind blowing – I believe this year we are expecting a record 9,000 attendees and over 400 speakers. It truly is a thing to behold – its also essential that you wear very, very comfortable shoes! (my top tip – take some socks to change into – you can almost always find some Insurtech branded socks on the stands – some are very good!) I am lucky to be involved again with ITC live where we will be recording some insights from some the worlds most innovative Insurance and Insurtech thinkers

I will be bringing The Leadership In Insurance Podcast cast live from Vegas where this year we are fortunate to have some booths on the show room floor so we can be close enough to the action to get some fresh insights – as usual we will be conducting a VC insights series to look at the investment landscape in 2024 plus we have some excellent high profile guests for whom we will be doing a full length podcast recording.

At this years event we will see 4 specific conferences areas or villages as Bill Harris has declared it – #ITCAgents, #ITCBrokers, #ITCLatam and #ITCL&A and Group Benefits. I will be hosting an interactive discussion around talent within the ITC L&A Groups Benefits village – so I guess that makes me the mayor for a day? Thanks to Bill and the team for another spectacular line of speakers and events and at the end of the road we get to see Boyz to Men close the show – this child of the 80s cant wait although I have had to explain to my young team who they are!

Despite of the media, merch and general show business of events such as these it’s the meetings and the opportunities that emerge from these events that’s keeps people attending. I personally love the speed dating style meeting format. It's not uncommon to get 15 plus meetings a day – you couldn’t do that in a month without the conference format. It's also those chance meetings, those coffee queue interactions, those chats at stands that drive the opportunities within the sector.

We at FinPro. are a hybrid remote business as are many businesses. The culture of face to face isn’t probably seen as the right status quo for most working environments but its still where the business opportunities happen – the sharing of information around the water cooler has long been the way to get to the truth of the matter, and ITC creates these water cooler moments we still need.

I hope to see you all there, it’s the people and the interactions of the InsurTech community that drive the innovations we see taking hold of the insurance sector. Without these opportunities to share thoughts, ides and inspiration its hard to envisage so much change would have happened so quickly. See you in Vegas people!
