Livorno is ready to connect to the national grid
The port authority RFI delivery to areas affected by work on the rail link.
Officially handed over last week by the Port Authority to RFI affected areas, is now all set to Livorno for the start of work that will equip the port with a direct train connection to the national grid.
In detail, the authority entrusted to RFI 31,900 square meters of areas where the tracks will be built that will connect directly to the dock Tuscany and the future Platform Europe at the Genoa-Rome line in a northerly direction. It is planned the construction of a new section of the line single-track, electrified and equipped with signaling devices, while a further independent binary will be built between the station Livorno Livorno Calambrone and New Haven, in order to separate the traffic destined to it .
The agreement for the construction of the infrastructure had been signed in 2008 and updated in December 2011 Interventions - has now announced the Port Authority - will be completed by December 2015.
Forty million euro total investment, of which 7 are arranged by RFI, who also edited the final design, and 33 from the region of Tuscany. Of these, said the president Enrico Rossi, 13 were backed by EU funds, after the favorable assessment of DG Competition that he has not considered state aid.
