Italians spend €10.8 billion annually on hair care
Did you know hair care is increasingly vital for Italians' mental and physical well-being?
Italians spend an average of €10.8 billion annually on hairdressers and scalp care products.
This growing focus on hair health reflects an interest beyond aesthetics, extending to overall well-being. According to Pucci Romano, president of Skineco and professor of dermatological techniques at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, "Italians are devoting more attention and resources to scalp care, to the point that citizens' spending on hair care products now exceeds €1 billion per year, while families invest nearly €9.9 billion annually in hairdresser services".
These figures indicate a steady rise in interest in hair products and treatments, which increasingly align with a desire for inner balance and wellness. Romano explains that Italians' attention to their hair is not just an aesthetic concern; it reflects a need for body care as a part of overall health. This shift has led to new consumer trends and market changes, with a growing demand for eco-dermocompatible, sustainable products and those specifically designed to combat hair loss.

3 个月Serena, it’s True. "From the concept of 'beauty well-being' to 'well-being', shifting from skin care to scalp health, from long and complex treatments (problem solution) to quick and immediate products (quick win). There has been a transition from hedonistic attitudes to conscious and sustainable hedonism. All of this has contributed to the growth of an already promising market."
