Is the IT-BPO Industry a constant Start Up?
In 2017, the IT-BPO industry of the Philippines grew by 12.3% and generated $22.1B in revenue and growth is expected to continue through 2022. Constant growth and change is part of being a start up.
A Start Up company is defined as a company that is in the first stage of its operations.
An IT-BPO company works on multiple contracts or campaigns at one time. Often adding a new campaign regularly. That new campaign needs new staff, new knowledge, new investment, new products and services, new training, new procedures and processes. The IT-BPO is expected to learn these new processes, adapt, deliver and support that company quickly. This is the ethos of a Start Up company.
The BPO company has a foundation of knowledge, resources and skills to build from, often with years of experience. This is not a Start Up. However, if we do not bring in new business regularly, we get swallowed up by competition, especially when business partnerships or contracts end. The constant need for new business and the cycle that is required, is the Start Up Cycle.
Why choose a BPO for your Start Up?
Growing your business by scaling through people is hard. Having operations in-house always means you will be fighting fires, dealing with customers, and tech issues, managing people, and concerning yourself with the day to day management a lot more than the Company direction, brand, and the bigger picture. Focusing short term can kill the long term goals. Focusing on the "Now" can mean that a Start up Management team is not planning for the future, and building the foundations for growth, building the reports and processes necessary, and the team are multi-tasking to keep the Start Up going.
Outsourcing Operations and IT Development, with support from Head Office, documented processes and specifications to follow, and the Head Office confident that instructions are being followed, frees up the Management team to focus on the business, and to guide the company. Having daily meetings means that Head Office is still in control of the direction of the company, but not distracted by the daily issues and fires.
We are passengers in your ship, you are the captain of the journey. Together, we can make your business successful, we can share in the excitement and passion of your start up. You grow, we grow; you do well, we do well. We are in this together. We want you to succeed.
So are BPO's a Start up?
We have years of experience of working with Start Ups, being the support until the Company brings more operations in-house and grows. Rather than being a Start Up, we can be an integral part of the Start Up Cycle.
