Another Acquisition for the LS Group – Welcome to Heidolph

The expertise of the ATS LS Group are growing with the addition of the companies Heidolph Instruments GmbH & Co. KG and Hans Heidolph GmbH (together known as Heidolph), a leader in the production of premium laboratory equipment. With their products and solutions, Heidolph supports users in over 80 countries worldwide, with made in Germany quality products, an excellent service offering and one mission: research made easy.

Heidolph will continue to exist as an independent company on the market for laboratory equipment - on core markets as well as through their valuable distributor network. Heidolph therefore remains Heidolph – under the umbrella of the ATS Life Sciences division.?

Heidolph Instruments’ devices and system solutions enable customers to advance the healing and alleviation of disease. New techniques for ensuring adequate healthy foods are being developed with their products and new innovative materials can bring technological advances around the world. Other companies use their devices to manufacture, analyze and ensure the quality of their products. As an innovative and global corporation, Heidolph is a perfect fit for ATS.

There is an increasing need to get to market faster for both established and startup manufacturers

Startups usually need more resources to mark a shift from prototype production to volume production and meet rising demand once their product interest grows in the marketplace. This is where turnkey contract manufacturers, or end-to-end manufacturers, come in, assisting growing companies while also providing advantages for those with an established system and product growth.

For both onset and established companies, there are challenges in expanding the business and scaling up efficiently, which contract manufacturers can resolve by outsourcing parts of every business need, including engineering. Joe Da Rocha from ATS REM (Repetitive Equipment Manufacturing) speaks about the potential for a white label partner in this issue of Manufacturing Technology Insights magazine:??Redefining The Manufacturing Space with Repeat Equipment Manufacturing: https://go.atsautomation.com/e/651873/liactivity7200852542187061248-/h7dxt8/2908538944/h/durJOOsZrcp5YslIOmsu5Kn5yWtJbFMDNf-hT-uDrYk

MODULIS+ - 3 Spot Checks to Know you Have the Right Technology Solution Partner

The global demand for POC diagnostics, whether measuring blood glucose or detecting the presence of an infection, is in growth mode. As a result, there is a critical need to find the right technology partner that has made the investment in designing and installing micro-dispensing technology specifically implemented in the manufacturing of medical and consumer diagnostic devices.?

If you are responsible for the operation of highly multiplex/microarray device manufacturing and validation that requires ultra-low volume dispensing, you are probably faced with the challenge to navigate the roadmap to ramp from low-volume output to higher output all while in the race to deliver sellable product to the market.

On your capacity expansion journey, you will either find an organization that is an expert at dispensing and builds dispensing solutions as a stand-alone unit, or you will find an automation integrator that procures a third-party dispensing solution. There is a clear differentiation that the ATS Life Sciences Group brings to this space in making significant investment in the invention of dispensing, inspection, simulation tools, and smart conveyance.?

Tube Sets – Transitioning from Manual to Fully-automated Assembly

In the world of medical tube set manufacturing (IV, dialysis, blood collection, infusion, apheresis), end users are not willing to pay top dollar for what is considered a ‘disposable’. Automation can make reshoring production attainable.?

Efficiency and reliability are redefined with our advanced Medical Tube Set Assembly platforms. Engineered to outperform, our machines provide robustness and dependability, elevating your operations to greater speed and efficiency. Whether you are producing simple straight tail segments or complex coiled systems, our range of platforms deliver high speed, quality, and reliability, ensuring the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) at 30, 60, or 180 PPM.?

SwiftCell – From Innovation to Commercial Production

We introduced our low-capacity assembly system last year to positive reviews; at a top output rate of ~20 PPM, SwiftCell fills a ‘sweet spot’ in the market between ultra-low clinical production and full commercialization.

A well-known drug delivery device manufacturer explains why they ordered the new SwiftCell to be part of their production system:?

"The SwiftCell standardized assembly modules:

  • are very compact (built as 1x1m cells)
  • are perfect for initial mapping of processes, determination of forces, and detection of problems during production
  • are ideal for customers to gain a foothold in a new market
  • have a lifespan beyond start-up; the processes are taken from the Swift Cell and scaled up for larger production
  • deliver flexibility; they are designed for partial automation, and then the machine can be expanded later for full automation, as required."

Our customer is using SwiftCell as a test machine in order to ramp up their new product and see whether it’s feasible and scalable up to a particular real-life volume.
