More Commentary on the state of the job market?

Axios’ reporting yesterday on “The No Hire No Fire Labor Market”. I continue to share these stats not to depress you. But I do believe believe knowledge is power... and this is important context to keep in mind as you are navigated this job market. (It isn’t a reflection of you and your worth as a candidate... it’s a combination of forces working together to make it a highly competitive labor market.?

  • “It’s a job market that is frozen in place”?

  • The hiring rate fell to 3.3% in August, the slowest pace since October 2013, according to the latest Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey. That rate peaked at 4.6% in late 2021.?

  • Layoffs are holding at a low rate: 1% in August — lower than at any point before the pandemic.?

  • Workers are quitting their jobs at the slowest pace since 2015?

  • The job-switching premium is narrowing as the labor market loosens up and employers are less motivated to hire.?

October is Cybersecurity month... and as communicators and consumers, it’s a great time to get more informed about Deepfakes (and their use in social engineering attacks).?

Joel Unruch, general counsel at Accenture shared on LinkedIn a new resource, FirstAI-iD Kit, which aims to empower and educate everyone about the risks associated with deepfakes. ? ? All of Accenture’s workforce has been asked to participate in learning how to protect against deepfakes. And we have also made this training available to the public.?
