This month we enjoyed our biggest Transnational Education Conference to date, and we are now turning our attention to the exciting events still ahead.
In this edition of the newsletter, we are thrilled to highlight our upcoming Global Research and Innovation Conference 2024.? In less than a week we will be bringing together leaders, innovators, and policymakers who shape the future of global research and collaboration in the UK.?

With a dynamic agenda, this conference promises insightful discussions on how research and innovation can address global challenges, support national interests, and foster truly equitable international partnerships. Chaired by Professor Dame Karen Holford, Vice-Chancellor of Cranfield University, we are particularly excited to platform a fascinating ministerial address which promises to deliver crucial insights into the new government’s plans for the sector.??
We have exciting panels lined up including New Horizons: the Future of UK-EU Research Collaboration which will delve into the new possibilities created by the UK's association with Horizon Europe, focusing on strategies to boost participation and foster a proactive mindset. It will also explore the upcoming Framework Programme, discussing how the UK can play a key role in shaping future priorities and engaging with evolving opportunities.
In addition to this we have our Attractors and Anchors: How Universities Can Support FDI session, which explores how collaboration between universities, industry, and investors can unlock new opportunities and bolster the UK’s economy. Learn how higher education institutions can act as catalysts for growth and innovation in this engaging session, focused on inspiring partnerships and maximising FDI potential.

We are thrilled to unveil a new speaker at this year’s International Student Recruitment Conference!?
We are excited to reveal that Professor Chris Wigginton?will be joining us for our Learning from Peers: A Case-Study Dive Session.?This session will explore how UUKi members collaborate with local partners to manage international student recruitment sustainably. Case studies, such as Sheffield Hallam’s collaboration on housing and public services, will highlight practical strategies for balancing recruitment efforts with community impact, addressing both successes and challenges.
