Issue 64: Sunday night edition with 45 roles to kick off a new month of possibilities.

I'm back with a Sunday night edition to help jump start the month. For those new to my roundups, I am not affiliated with the hiring of any of the roles highlighted, simply putting my search and curation skills to work to help the many that are looking. Therefore, please use your normal due diligence when researching any positions of interest further.

Watch:?

Replay from What generations want from work event. (The very knowledgeable Christie Smith represented the Boomer perspective... but I loved this caveat that she feels like a Gen Z trapped in a Boomer’s body.)?

Some key takeaways from the discussion:?

Companies have lost the trust and engagement of their workforce for several reasons:

  • Flexibility: Many got a taste of it during the pandemic and are looking for a culture of more flexibility to continue?
  • Authenticity: Kaitlin Bible explained that we are people first, employees second. She explained how her team has the agency and flexibility to step away from work when life happens... and the accountability to keep their commitments to deadlines.
  • A break-down of trust: There seems to be a lack of alignment with their values and purpose (“Insides not matching their outsides”)?

?

Read:?

  1. It's summer reading list time!?

For those looking for some new business/professional development focused books to add to their wish list... A summer reading list from Matt Abrahams. (Given that I already have quite a stack of purchased books to get through... these might have to wait until Fall or Winter.)?

?

  1. For fans of behavioral psychology /economics and its impact on consumer behavior:?

Some recent reporting from Wall Street Journal, on new research on the impact of nudging: https://www.wsj.com/economy/consumers/decision-making-research-behavior-2e5060c1?

If you do not have a subscription, you can read about the underlying study here: https://phys.org/news/2024-04-nudging-consumers-common-tactic.html?

Key Takeaway: “New research suggests those who are prompted, either subtly or directly, to select a particular product or service may be quicker to abandon it.” If longevity is a goal, nudge tactics (in terms of upgrading product) may negatively impact customer retention. ?

So, certainly food for thought ... and likely more research to come on the topic.?

That’s all for today... hope it’s a great week ahead. Until next time.?

Thank you so much Andrea for your lists! Are you noticing a trend of less remote jobs and more on-site required?
