eSpark Takes Reading Engagement to the Next Level with Choice Texts
I recently attended an eSpark Learning webinar to get the scoop on their latest reading feature, Choice Texts , which uses AI to enable students to co-create custom stories based on their interests. I mean, this image they shared in the webinar of one student’s genuine reaction to creating his own story says it all!
It was so wonderful to hear from their new CEO, Eric Dahlberg , and see old friends Ray Lyons & Sarah Irwin from my days working at eSpark. The more I’ve learned about AI, the more excited I am for its potential to bring personalized learning to the next level.
I walked away from the webinar impressed by how eSpark:
Did you hear that? An AI tool has been built to ensure content is SAFE and instructionally-sound.

5 EdTech Grading Tools for Teachers
Are you dreading the back-to-school grading load? We've got you covered with these EdTech tools for grading. As a former teacher, I know the struggle of coming home with a bag full of papers to grade and finding the time to actually do it.
1.?GradeCam
GradeCam uses optical mark recognition technology to recognize and grade multiple choice, true/false, and numeric responses. Teachers can easily grade assignments and assessments by scanning them with a document camera or a mobile device camera. GradeCam also offers reporting and analytics tools to gain insights into student performance and identify areas where students may need extra support.
2. Gradescope
Gradescope is a comprehensive grading tool widely used in K-12 education. Teachers can create and manage activities and assignments, and grade them using various methods, including rubric-based grading, multiple grader support, and plagiarism detection. With Gradescope, teachers can provide feedback to students quickly and efficiently, and gain insights into student performance.
