Royce at the University of Sheffield
Working with industry and academia to deliver a step change in advanced metals discovery, processing and manufacture.
Welcome to this edition of our updates from the Advanced Metals Processing team at the Henry Royce Institute.
This month, we are delighted to introduce our new advisory group members, who will help us shape and develop our strategy for the theme in the UK.?
We were truly impressed and humbled by the enthusiastic response to our open call for expressions of interest to join the advisory groups. Your support and involvement is vital, and we look forward to working together to involve even more people in our activities in the future.
Additionally, we want to highlight an exciting funding opportunity for early and mid-career colleagues. Coordinated by UKRI, the "Working with Centres: Advanced Materials" initiative aims to seed larger projects and provide sustained access to our state-of-the-art facilities. For more information, please visit this link?and feel free to reach out to us individually or through [email protected].
You'll find our usual list of upcoming?training courses and events?below, if you would like us to share anything relevant to this community in future editions please email our comms officer,?Rae ([email protected]).? We'd also like to get to know you a bit better, so we would love it if you would complete the?survey?below too, this will allow us to tailor our content to best support our community.? About Us
The Henry Royce Institute is the UK's national institute for advanced materials research an innovation. It has eight major themes, of which Advanced Metals Processing (AMP) is one.?
Our AMP facilities span?the Pennines, based in two historic industrial cities; the Henry Royce Institute hub site in Manchester, and two custom built sites at the?University of Sheffield.?
We aim to build on the UK's strength in metals processing and provide the support needed to deliver innovative metals processing technologies and novel alloy solutions. We want to enable the UK metal industries to transition to a resources efficient, zero-pollution, digitalised and agile future.?
