Improve Your Safety Practices with Safety Management 2.0

Most modern-day shipping companies have complied with the requirements of the ISM code with a systems-based approach to safety. This did have a positive impact on how shipping companies approached safety, but in many cases did not focus on the human behaviour element.

The effects of a systems-based approach have plateaued; therefore, the human element is now under focus as an area where the safety performance of companies can be improved. Safety management needs to be upgraded to version 2.0.
