Step 1: Have a non-custodial wallet. Preferably Metamask, which is affiliated with Ethereum. Fund your Ethereum wallet address as you will be using it to purchase your .eth name.

Step 2: ?Go to your browser, Google chrome maybe. Then search for “app.ens.domain”. When the site opens, you are to scroll down until you find the “register a .eth name” button.

Step 3: After clicking on the button, and after the page opens, you can then type in your desired name in the space provided. Search for the availability of the name. To know if it’s available, a green-colored sideline line would appear beside it. And the word “available” will be written in front of it.

Step 4: Click on the name you provided if it shows that it is available. You will be shown an interface to choose the number of years you want to subscribe for and the amount needed to get it.

Step 5: Next is to look to your bottom right and click on “request to register”. After clicking, you would be required to pay a gas fee. You will see clear instructions to wait for one minute for the transaction to go through. You can decide to wait for an additional one minute if you like.?

Ultimately, the button will change to “register”. Click on the button and pay the gas fee. After this, the name has become yours. You could then link your domain name to your wallet.
