Hi! This is 'Super Diffusion' again… Time is flying: Happy first Sunday of Advent!
In my little newsletter here, today everything revolves around the topic of politics and the costs that it is already costing us and will continue to do so in the future.
In addition to a Campact petition, you will find exciting data on the topic of the consequential costs of climate change and fascinating figures on the worldwide expansion of solar energy.
Stay healthy!
And: like and share my findings to as many humans by your choice as possible. That's the only way to keep it alive — Super Diffusion.
??? A petition against a deadlock until new elections
The petition by Campact e.V. urges CDU party leader Friedrich Merz to cease obstructing essential investments in climate protection, social services, and democratic initiatives within the Bundestag. Following the dissolution of the Ampel-Koalition, the SPD and Greens lack a parliamentary majority and depend on opposition support to pass legislation. The petition alleges that Merz is deliberately hindering funding for critical projects to politically weaken these parties during the election campaign, thereby jeopardizing initiatives such as school digitalization, the long-term financing of the "Deutschlandticket," infrastructure renovations, and programs combating right-wing extremism. This obstruction is said to create uncertainty for numerous organizations and citizens, potentially leading to increased costs and the deterioration of essential services. The petition calls on Merz to prioritize the country's future over party politics by releasing the necessary funds to ensure the continuation of these vital projects.
?? As the saying goes: “Vorsicht ist besser als Nachsicht”
In his LinkedIn post, Merlin Lauenburg discusses the significant financial impact of climate change on Germany's infrastructure and agriculture. He notes that climate-related damages have already cost Germany over €145 billion, with projections indicating an additional €900 billion in damages by 2050 if current trends persist. Lauenburg emphasizes the urgent need for comprehensive climate protection measures to mitigate these escalating costs. He advocates for a strategic approach that balances economic growth with environmental sustainability, highlighting the importance of investing in resilient infrastructure and sustainable agricultural practices. Lauenburg calls for collaborative efforts from policymakers, businesses, and society to implement effective climate action plans, aiming to safeguard the economy and environment for future generations.

?? The “ Robert Habeck ”-Effect by Peter Jelinek
Peter highlights that over 155 gigawatts (GW) of solar capacity were installed globally in 2023, marking a significant advancement in renewable energy adoption in a recent LinkedIn post. He emphasizes that this substantial increase underscores the accelerating shift towards sustainable energy sources worldwide. Jelinek notes that this growth not only contributes to reducing carbon emissions but also plays a crucial role in diversifying energy portfolios and enhancing energy security. He advocates for continued investment and innovation in the solar sector to maintain this positive trajectory, suggesting that such efforts are essential for achieving long-term environmental and economic benefits. Jelinek's insights reflect a broader recognition of the importance of renewable energy in addressing global climate challenges and the need for sustained commitment to clean energy initiatives.
?? Podcast recommendation on my own behalf
