Issue #4 - Company Partner: Good’s Insurance Agency
Free Wheelchair Mission
Transforming Lives Through the Gift of Mobility
After 1945, the United States was in the middle of a post-World War II boom. Companies and individuals were acquiring more property and wealth and, thus, needed to have insurance to make sure assets were covered. In 1949, Amos “Benny” Good decided to capitalize on this boom by going into the insurance industry. He quickly developed a loyal clientele in Central Pennsylvania. That was the beginning of Good's Insurance Agency .
Benny’s son, Tim, later joined his father permanently in 1983, bringing first-hand knowledge from the trucking industry to the family business. Since then, the company has grown to serve clients in over 25 states. Their team of over 20 insurance professionals provides business and personal insurance options, specializing in transportation coverage.
Timothy Good, TRS, CPIA , the President of Good’s Insurance, was inspired to emphasize charitable giving within his company while attending a leadership conference. At this same conference, he was introduced to Free Wheelchair Mission when he heard their founder, Don Schoendorfer, speak. Tim was struck by the great need for wheelchairs worldwide and was moved to get his company involved with the mission. Good’s Insurance made an initial generous donation to provide 100 wheelchairs. However, they didn’t stop there.
The Good’s Insurance team has been an ongoing ambassador in spreading the word about the nonprofit’s mission. In the reception area of their office, the company proudly displays Free Wheelchair Mission flyers for customers to learn more about the need for wheelchairs and the solution. Many people show interest in the mission, and the Good’s Insurance team has been able to answer questions and advocate for the mission. They have also chosen to spread the word by listing Free Wheelchair Mission on their website with an opportunity for people to learn more and donate.

Good’s Insurance has also chosen to participate in the nonprofit’s monthly giving program, Mobilize. By becoming a part of a faithful group of Mobilizers, they generously donate about eight brand-new wheelchairs each month. The company partner receives exclusive email updates on which country their donations went to that they are able to share with their team.
Not only has this partnership benefited Free Wheelchair Mission, but the Good’s Insurance team as well. Tim shared that this shift towards focused and intentional giving has impacted the company’s culture for the better. “Our team is happy knowing they are part of a company that is ‘giving back’... Free Wheelchair Mission is near and dear to my heart as it is to our employees.”
Good’s Insurance Agency and other company partners are helping to provide the life-transforming gift of mobility.
