Issue #2 - Company Partner: Your DMV Team Realty
Since our founding in 2001, Free Wheelchair Mission has been proud to partner with companies both big and small with a shared goal: transforming lives through the gift of mobility. Companies and their employees have often donated their time, talent, and treasure to provide their organizations with ways to engage with causes at a deeper level and show their clients and customers that they care. Seventy-seven percent of consumers are motivated to purchase from companies committed to making the world a better place.
This is the first part of our monthly series where we will be highlighting companies that are making a difference. Your DMV Team Realty has a team of 17 that serves both home buyers and home sellers in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Northern Virginia areas. They have been in business for nearly 13 years, and last year, they did over $60 million in sales.
The heart behind their work: “We consider people – not properties – our passion.” When CEO and Founder, Yony Kifle , first heard about Free Wheelchair Mission and the work to help people with disabilities, he wanted to find a way for his company to partner. Yony shared, “It's a no-brainer to support this organization and that is why my company and I decided to donate a wheelchair for every sale we make. I truly believe that we are blessed to be a blessing, so I am so thankful Free Wheelchair Mission is a vessel to do that through.”
Yony and his team shared about this new partnership on their social media. They spread the word about Free Wheelchair Mission’s work through Instagram posts and an Instagram Live with a member of the nonprofit’s development team.
Not only has this partnership benefitted the nonprofit, but also Your DMV Team Realty as well. Yony explained, “Partnering with Free Wheelchair Mission has definitely affected the agents and staff on the team in that it’s helped us see just how much we can truly impact people with our business. That has helped us become more focused, and want to ultimately close more deals so our impact is even greater. Our clients have also been impacted in that when they hear what we are doing, they appreciate it and are grateful to have a part in these donations! It’s just been an overall wonderful thing for us."
Since the beginning of this partnership in October 2022, Your DMV Team Realty has been able to provide more than 20 brand-new wheelchairs to individuals with disabilities in developing countries and will continue to partner to make an even bigger impact.
Through the support of Your DMV Team Realty and many other generous companies and individuals, Free Wheelchair Mission has provided more than 1.3 million wheelchairs in 94 developing countries around the world.?
