Issue 14: Ramblings of a recruiter in Real Estate

In this issue, I will reveal more of the analytics from our insight into UK salaries, a leader on our podcast from the World’s most talked about development project and more than a healthy helping of our most recent instructions in UK development careers.?

?

I have picked one topic which particularly interested me to share here:

In recent years, the average tenure an employee will stay with their employer has been on a steady decline. Millennials and all their badges have been credited with making plenty of changes to the workplace, the oldest of that group will be 42 years old in 2023. Today the average tenure, with the same employer, for those under 45 is?3 years and 4 months.?Not surprisingly, it is the youngest category, those referred to as GenZ aged 26 years and younger have the shortest average tenure dropping below 2 years (1.9 years) for the first time. With this trend, do employers have realistic goals for their staff retention and are they doing enough to meet the demands for career progression in these groups??

Employers can access the results of Macdonald & Company 's global salary and rewards data now, contact me for more details. You can examine the top 5 most valued aspects of work by age group as well as the most common benefits in your peer group, the median, upper quartile and top percentile salaries across 70 job functions, 18 asset classes and 11 employer types from as little as £750 ex VAT.??

In our latest episode of our market-leading podcast Accelerating Careers in Real Estate, we get to hear from Giles Pendleton FRICS , Executive Director of Development for what has in recent times been the most talked about development in the world. A scheme which is intended to accommodate 9 million people, 170 km long, 500m tall but just 200m wide. It is of course The Line, part of the wider NEOM Masterplan in Saudi Arabia. Giles is no stranger to mega projects, so I was very excited to hear what he has learnt about himself and the tools necessary to succeed when the stakes are so large.?
