Top Stories from Issue 55:
Innovation Group: Enabling the Future of Insurance
James Coggin, Group Chief Technology Officer, on the digital transformation of Innovation Group and disrupting an industry with InsurTech.
“The Gateway platform is a modern, cloud-native application using the latest technologies. So, cutting edge tech has actually helped us to retain our people and attract new talent. We try to follow best practices; good in and of itself, but it also helps attract and retain the best people."
Leeds Building Society: A Tech Transformation Driven By Data
Carole Roberts, Director of Data at Leeds Building Society, on a digital transformation program driven by the mutual power of people and culture.
"We want to lean into that to understand where we can safely use AI to move our program faster. That includes looking at how we can use GenAI for data cleansing and around our data profiling for back book migration.”
Avepoint: Securing the Future
Kevin Briggs, Vice President of Public Sector at AvePoint, discusses pioneering data security and management transformation in the global public sector.
“AvePoint is a premier partner for supporting organisations, agencies, and the public sector to not just meet compliance, but set the standard for what effective data security and management can look like in the digital age or the new era of AI. We ensure the security, accessibility and integrity of data for customers with missions from everything from finance and health services, through to national security, innovation, and science.”
Saudia Group: A Digital Journey
Chief Data & Technology Officer Abdulgader Attiah on the digital transformation program towards becoming an ‘offer and order’ airline.
"Without the team we don’t exist. So, having the right skillset with hands-on people at the top level makes a big difference. When we look at the management of technology in the past, especially at Saudia, the top people are the management layer, and they understand 25% of the real tech challenges, and the SMEs are in the lower portion. We flipped that so the SMEs are in the top level and making key decisions regarding technology."
Publicis Sapient: The Global Banking Benchmark Study 2024
Dave Murphy, Financial Services Lead, International – gives Interface the lowdown on the third annual Global Banking Benchmark Study and the key findings Publicis Sapient revealed around core modernisation, GenAI, data analytics transformation and payments.
“AI, machine learning and GenAI are both the focus and the fuel of banks’ digital transformation efforts. The biggest question for executives isn’t about the potential of these technologies. It’s how best to move from experimenting with use cases in pockets of the business to implementing at scale across the enterprise. The right data is key. It’s what powers the models.”
USDA: Achieving Customer Experience Balance
We spoke to Abena Apau and Kimberly Iczkowski, from USDA FPAC, about the incredible work the organisation is doing to support farmers across America.
“We were even willing to put the digital aside entirely and focus on what people really needed. When we sent out surveys to farmers, we sent them on paper – and 93% also responded on paper. Most of them don’t want to do it digitally. So we’ve had to work on making people understand that we’re willing to meet them where they are and lean into what they actually require.”
Adecco: Digital Transformation Driven by Business Outcomes
Geert Halsberghe, Head of IT, Benelux, at Adecco Group, talks transformation management, cultural consensus, and ensuring digital transformation starts (and stays) focused on solving business problems.
“You need to focus on what’s truly needed from a business perspective. It’s not about finding a problem to match a solution we already have—like saying, ‘Well, we have this great solution, so we must have this problem.’ No, it’s about identifying the significant challenges a country or region is facing and seeing how IT can act as an enabler.”
Breitling: Digital Transformation and the Omnichannel Experience
Rajesh Shanmugasundaram, CTO at Breitling, talks changing customer expectations, data, AI, and digitally transforming to deliver an omnichannel experience.
"Customer expectations have been changing across pretty much every market. Customers today are more demanding. They expect an omni-channel experience. They expect faster responses, and they expect it to be easy to do things like return a product after purchase."
La Vie En Rose: Outcome-focused Digital Transformation
éric Champagne, CIO at La Vie En Rose, on ensuring digital transformations are defined by communication, vision, and cultural buy-in.
"Technology is fantastic – I love gadgets – but you can’t run a business just on gadgets...I don’t chase after the latest technology just because it seems cool. My focus is on aligning technology with the business strategy and real needs.”
