Issue 100: A mid week edition with 53 roles and 2 must-read content picks on the every changing nature of work

Welcome to the 100th edition of my job curation posts. ?

Over the past 1+ year, I’ve tried different visuals, evolved my approach to curating roles and which roles I decide to include, added in helpful content, have had a lot of late nights as I try to squeeze in another edition... and most importantly have met so many talented and inspiring marketing and comms professionals along the way. ?

These roundups are a passion project for me – so please drop me a line if they are helpful to you (and share what you like), as it is those notes that “fill my cup” and convince me that it is worth the time commitment and effort that I am putting in.?

Part 1: Getting inspired?and informed

If it feels like work (and our relationship with it) is changing, it is:?

As I mentioned in my last edition, Accenture Life Trends 2025 looks at “the interplay between people and their behaviors and attitudes to the world around them—be it business, technology or other societal shifts” ... and not surprising our attitudes about work made the list.?

As the Dignity of Work trend found, flexibility is king and morale has taken a hit:?

52% of people prize work/life balance above all else.?

29% of employees trust that their employers have their best interests at heart.?

What’s a company to do? The report explains:?

“Today’s workplace makes demands of leaders that need a new mindset and special energy to navigate complex challenges. It means balancing financial pressures and the relentless drive for growth in a volatile economy with dwindling team morale.”?

These findings are also consistent with a new Work Change Snapshot from LinkedIn. In Karin Kimborough’ s recent post she explains:?

  • 70% of global executives agree that things are moving faster than ever. And it’s not just leadership feeling the strain; nearly two-thirds of professionals worldwide are feeling overwhelmed by how quickly work is evolving, and saying they need more support than ever before to keep up.?

Here are some additional stats for your next cocktail party conversations:?

  • Globally, more 10% of workers?hired today have job titles that did not exist in 2000.?

  • Flexible work is in flux, particularly as companies continue to evolve their return to office (RTO) mandates. A quarter of professionals say one of their current biggest challenges is proving they can successfully work remotely.?

  • 63% of all US applications on LinkedIn went to hybrid and remote roles. Yet, job postings for remote and hybrid roles decreased 13%.?
