The Madrid Edition | Opened April 2022

SPAIN: With a design “unlike anything we've ever seen”, according to Travel + Leisure, The Madrid Edition opened in spring this year, becoming Madrid’s “first luxury lifestyle urban resort” (Dezeen). Much like other properties in Ian Schrager’s design-led Edition stable, “the outpost in the Spanish capital doesn’t shy away from taking risks” (Surface Mag) with an irreverent design that offers an “innovative and elevated experience” (Dezeen), “distinguishing it from the city’s recent crop of upmarket hotels” (Surface Mag). The “impeccable location” (Wallpaper*) places the hotel within easy reach of the Plaza Major, the royal palace and Gran Vía, and the hotel itself is a destination in its own right with a rooftop bar and restaurant that became the “most in-demand destination of summer” (Vogue). Madrid’s biggest rooftop pool can also be found atop the hotel, from where guests can enjoy “unmatched views” (Vogue) of the city.

Our favourite feature: The irreverent and innovative design

The Hoxton, Poblenou | Opened May 2022

SPAIN: Providing “everything the city needs” (Condé Nast Traveller) The Hoxton, Poblenou brings a bar, a bodega, a pizza restaurant and a buzzing rooftop terrace to Barcelona’s “creative neighborhood of Poblenou” (Vogue Spain). The new opening is Hoxton’s first Spanish location and is already “undoubtedly the coolest spot in Barcelona” (Condé Nast Traveller) with “an inclusive, upbeat environment” (Condé Nast Traveller) across all of its social spaces. At the heart of the property is the signature Hoxton lobby, an inviting, 24-hour space that acts as a social hub for guests and locals alike. "Potted plants, rattan chairs and other seating upholstered with tactile fabrics” (Dezeen) make this one particularly welcoming while locally-inspired design touches throughout the rest of the property provide “an echo of traditional Spanish homes” (Dezeen). The rooftop terrace is home to a swimming pool and boasts fantastic “views of the Sagrada Familia” (Vogue Spain).
