ChatGPT shuts down tool designed to catch AI-written text due to low accuracy. OpenAI discontinued a tool meant to tell human writing from AI due to low accuracy. It will work on better methods to detect AI-generated text going forward. The tool was never good at catching AI writing and could give false results.?

I gotta hand it to OpenAI for owning up to the fact that their tool wasn't exactly the superstar they hoped for. We've all had those moments when we launch a product and realize, "Oops, that's not quite what we had in mind!" But you know what? Admitting it takes guts, and it shows they're serious about making things right.
And boy, did they pull back the curtain on this one! Transparency is the name of the game, my friends. No smoke and mirrors here. They straight-up said, "Hey, our tool's accuracy ain't exactly hitting the bullseye," and that's refreshing.
But hey, they're not throwing in the towel just yet! Nope, they're diving back into the lab, beakers and all, to whip up some new and improved methods for spotting AI-generated content. I mean, we can't have robots running amok and tricking us, right? It's like trying to tell if a cat is plotting world domination – tricky business!
So, kudos to OpenAI for taking the bull by the horns and working to get their tech up to snuff. We're all learning as we go in this wild world of AI, and it's heartening to see them take responsibility and strive to be better. Let's give 'em a cheer and a little pat on the back, folks! Onward and upward!

Stability AI just dropped their new open source text-to-image model called SDXL 1.0. It's the newest version of their SDXL series and it's pretty incredible! But why in the world can’t they name it something besides a string of letters/numbers? <grin>
They're saying this model creates some of the most realistic and vibrant images out there compared to other open source options. It can handle prompts with just a few words and make really detailed pictures. Definitely worth testing out!
