What’s on our mind…

2024 has been quite a year already for the production industry, and not without its challenges. We’ve been thinking a lot about the future of advertising, production and filmmaking, and how we can be part of creating a more equitable, sustainable and abundant future.

As part of this process we’ve done a huge amount of looking inward at the core of who we are and who we want to be; both as individuals and as a business.?

As an organization, in order to survive the industry shift, we are adapting to our current circumstances, embodying our company values, and leading with feminine principles, to create a strong mindset and healthy work environment.

As our founder Harriet Cauthery recently said in an interview with Canvas Rebel?

“Our mission is twofold. To change the way people work in production, by nurturing and supporting the process, while simultaneously creating thought-provoking, culture-shifting work that promotes conversation”?

This year we’re hugely excited that two of our rostered directors have been shortlisted in the Best New Director category at the AICP Awards.?

Directing duo CHAOS, known for their playful exploration at the intersection of science and creativity have been break-out industry stars this year, directing household names like lululemon, Target, and Foot Locker.

Director Allison Swank Owen has been making a name for herself from Johannesburg to New York, with a visual feast of work across commercial, music video and short film.?

Creative Spotlight

This month we’re spotlighting ByAssociation director Shawn Butcher, whose short film Lessons won the narrative short competition at the Sarasota Film Festival , and has made the official selection for Dances with Films!

Lessons follows a group of teenage cousins whose family bonds are tested as they flee their family’s isolated compound, and what started as an innocent journey becomes a tense crime spree.?
