Israel’s global isolation is caused by antisemitism, not bad policies (JNS)

Israel’s critics and outright foes are right about one thing: Nearly six months after the Oct. 7 massacres, its isolation is growing. Jonathan S. Tobin

I totally agree with the above statement that there is this growing negative sentiment against Israel. And I consider Jonathan S. Tobin of Jewish News Syndicate a very intelligent man.

He continues to say very accurate things in his article -

"Sadly, nothing will make Israel be loved by the world. The Jewish state cannot be “rebranded” to associate itself solely with its stellar economy, scientific accomplishments, or the beauty of its scenery or the genius of its people."

Clearly all the amazing things we provide the world with are not enough. Being a stunning tourist destination also won't help us if no one wants to be associated with us.

His solution is for us to push through to victory against the Hamas - which he thinks will cause this wave of negativity against Israel to calm down.

My Commentary

Today we've lost the support of the world in this little startup of ours called Israel. And even worse, we've lost conviction in our ability to succeed. To renew it we need to understand why we're here.

So it turns out that unity is the basis of our success, a precondition for our conviction in being here, which in itself is a precondition for our victory.

We're not living here in Israel for ourselves. It may appear as if we are, but it's only an illusion. We're actually here for the rest of the world. And until we understand this and convince the world that what we do here is really for them - we won't have the world's support or the conviction to succeed. We know we can succeed in high-tech and other industries, but nowadays that's no longer enough - we need our social systems to be as advanced as everything else.

Our only real justification for being here in Israel is to provide the advanced social thinking that the world really needs. So as I'm always saying - we need to stop trying to be like other nations and rather be our authentic selves.

In the deeper sense of the word, the people of Israel are not a people who call themselves Jews, but rather those who agree to unite. Just like we did when we came out of Egypt. Whenever there's a crisis we're really good at uniting. That's when we established the people of Israel, who settled in the land of Israel. And we were expelled from Israel when we abandoned our unity and stopped being a people held to a higher societal standard.

Today it's not longer enough to simply continue to thrive here and pretend all this negativity toward the Jews and Israel everywhere will go away. We need to strive to reinstate the human bonding that is our very essence.

Our unity will set an example of rising above our growing animosity to one another, and prove to the world that we are a peace-loving people who deserve to be here. So if we want everything to cool down, all we need to do is unite among ourselves.

I know this is easier said than done. As unpleasant as it is to hear, there is no hatred as deep as the hatred of Jews for one another. And this is precisely why when this hatred is resolved, all hatreds will be resolved.

So it turns out that unity is the basis of our success, a precondition for our conviction in being here, which in itself is a precondition for our victory.

Bottom line - If we want peace, we have to begin by making peace with one another. Here inside Israel, and Jews everywhere must come together.

One of the greatest motivations for us should be our kids. The sooner we overcome our differences to unite - the safer they will be. Both the next generation here in Israel that is fighting this horrible war, and Jewish kids on American campuses.

If we want the world to love us again - all we need to do is unite. We know how. We just need to remember how good it feels.

I don't quote a lot from our sources but I do when things get really bad:

As it is written in The Book of Zohar, “Everything stands on love” (VaEtchanan). It is the obligation of the Jewish people to unite in order to show the way for the cohesion and balance of the entire human race by implementing the great tenet of the Torah, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” When this happens, animosity towards Jews and Israel will transform into praise and appreciation.?

Two commandments Love the Lord your God with all your heart with all your soul with all your mind and with all your strength. Love your neighbour as yourself. Amen
