IsraeliJazz Book is here !

Dear friends, I wrote to you a few weeks ago to inform you that the IsraeliJazz book was being printed and produced.

I have the great pleasure of informing you that we have now received the work from the printing house. I am very happy and really proud. The completion was epic with tremendous teamwork during the last days (and nights), and this only increases my pleasure of holding in my hands this work. We designed it to be of high quality, with careful manufacturing and noble materials including a combination of 2 different papers for optimal rendering of the photos. All produced by a French printing house, Escourbiac, which respects the environment.

It is the conclusion of a work that began 5 years ago, with ups and downs, 5 exhibitions in Israel and Europe, dozens of presentations, unforgettable meetings but also with the events of October 7, and this could have marked the end of the project. Finally, after a hiatus of several months, we left even more motivated and more determined that this book be finished, printed and finally released, in order to tell this little-known story.

I cannot hide my pleasure that the very renowned journalist, Alex Dutilh, who produced Open Jazz daily on Radio France for 38 years, agreed to write the preface. Coming from a proven and internationally recognized professional like Alex, this is a real honor for me and for all those who supported me in this superb project.

We were very touched by the first signs of interest that we received from friends but also from professionals, such as these first 2 articles published in American news sites.

?In addition, it seems that the book was shortlisted for a very important literary prize in the United States, but…. Shhhh I'll tell you about it very soon..., as soon as it's official!

As you can see, it's a magnificent object, 25 cm by 31 cm and more than 3 cm thick, 288 pages and 2 kg! 92 Israeli musicians presented by their photos and their biography. The first part presents the beginnings of jazz in Israel in the 1920s until the present day with the development of the educational system, interviews with all the actors and the presentation of the places of jazz in Israel with a particular focus from the big bang to the beginning of the 90s and the particular place of New York. More than 120 original photos give you my vision of this tremendous human and transmission adventure.
