2. Alta Innovation:

Founded in 2015, Alta Innovation utilizes AI to improve herbicide applications. By analyzing drone-captured images of fields, their technology precisely targets unwanted weeds or pests, drastically reducing the amount of chemicals needed. This precision has been effective in large-scale applications, like combating locust outbreaks in Ethiopia.

3. DriftSense:

This 2019 startup offers a predictive tool to optimize pesticide application. By considering factors such as weather, regulatory guidelines, and equipment used, DriftSense helps farmers apply pesticides more efficiently, reducing unnecessary usage and minimizing environmental impact.

4. Palm Robotics:

Initially focused on addressing palm weevil infestations in date trees, Palm Robotics has expanded its technology to other crops. Using remote sensors, drones, and satellite imagery, they provide early detection of pests and diseases, enabling targeted treatment and reducing pesticide use.

5. BotanoHealth:

BotanoHealth has developed a fungicide derived from thyme essential oil, a safe and non-toxic alternative to conventional chemicals. Effective against various pests and diseases, their solution is also marketed for use in cannabis farming and vertical agriculture. They also offer an organic fruit and vegetable washing solution for home use.

6. Greeneye Technology:

Greeneye Technology uses AI for selective spraying, distinguishing between weeds and crops to apply herbicides only where necessary. This approach minimizes chemical use and tackles herbicide-resistant weeds effectively.
