The Company has built the Electronic Permit-to-Work solution called “eSmart Permit” to help organizations move away from paperwork to an electronic system of issuing, tracking, and renewing approvals for all kinds of regulated activities such as Service Requests, Work orders, permitting licenses and land management.

The Challenge

For several years, customers engaged in the business of issuing licenses, building permits, leasing processes, customer service management, telecom connection, utility connection, property registration process, and many more, have been using the redundant, manual, paper-based system to issue permits to work for different activities being undertaken by them. iSpatialTec realized the customer problem and put together the “eSmart Permit” solution, which is easily customizable and configurable to any business need like issuing licenses, building permits, leasing processes, customer service management, telecom connection, utility connection, property registration process, and many more. eSmart Permit utilizes ESRI’s ArcGIS Enterprise and its other suite of products and various other advanced modern technologies and is available both on the web and as a mobile application. The application contains a Geospatial interface for capturing & analyzing the location details.

The application allows end-users an easy-to-navigate interface to submit the application by filling in the necessary details, capturing the location of permitting requests and attaching all the required supporting documents. The business coordinator, on receiving the requests, can then redirect the same to relevant departments for necessary approvals before finally creating the Permit-to-Work Certificate and uploading it into the system. The Management can view the status of each against the defined KPIs and generate periodical reports to evaluate performance and enhance decision making. The entire workflow can be tracked and allows the end-user to check at what stage the application is pending. As a fully configurable solution, the operations staff teams are able to focus on their individual tasks but still stay completely connected at every step and intervene when needed. Thus, providing the teams managing the issuance of Permit-to-work with an ability to perform Risk Assessments and job hazard analyses. This tight integration between risk assessment and Permit-to-work makes this solution one of the best in its class.
