Isn't it time to put 'people and place' in the same sentence?

How many times have you been to conferences or forums where there are as many sessions about citizens engagement as is the design of places and spaces for them?

My experience is very little yet we all say that this dialogue is crucial in creating and sustaining 'liveable cities' but the task for policymakers, built environment professionals and agencies is exactly that, places where people can and want to live and work – but also where they have a voice to help shape their city’s future.
