Isn't life exciting at the moment?

I don't know about you but I was dreading hitting the magic 5 - 0. I had programmed myself to be ready to slow down and put my feet up a bit more, cash in a few investments and take life much more easy. Didn't happen!

At fifty things definitely started to change, my eyesight, my hearing, cholesterol, viagra and the list keeps getting longer.

Couple this with the fallout ion the 2008 crash and then the Brexit debacle. I'm sure I could have been excused for going on a bit of a downer, so in 2017 I decided to make a change. I was going to give up my career as a manager and musician in a successful corporate event band that had performed for some of the biggest stars on the planet at some of the most prestigious venues on the planet and start afresh. Suddenly after the complacency of success had started to dwindle and the excitement had left my now ageing body I was going to go it alone. It was quite terrifying. I went away for the whole of January 2018 on holiday to recharge and reassess what I wanted to do for me that would reignite my inner passion and love and after performing my final event on New Years eve 2017 it began.

Looking back it was quite harrowing. I was starting from the beginning all over again. People I had trusted and supported over the past thirty years suddenly had no belief in me or thats how it seemed. A brand I had created had left me and now l was alone and l soon realised I had to prove to everyone including myself I had the capability of reigniting that flame.

Id like to say it was like a Phoenix rising from the ashes - but it wasn't.

It was a tough year and it involved a lot of journeys around there country, a lot or research and a lot of learning.One thing I had now was time to do all the things I used other people and companies to do for me. I taught myself my way around photoshop, around video editing programs and sound recording programs. I taught myself how Facebook works and other social media platforms and I discovered LinkedIn.

All these things were things that in the past had held me back, things l had to wait for other people to do and usually redo, as they hadn't understood exactly what l wanted in the first place. The excitement was starting to bubble. If I woke up in the middle of the night I could do something about it there and then. The passion was back. I found that nothing could deter me. if one avenue had a dead end I could reroute and get back on the motorway all the time learning and developing new skills.

I knew from a very young age what I found exciting. Music, video, photography, fashion and history. The Twenties had always appealed to me and after watching the Great Gatsby I only needed an excuse to turn my own personal passion into a business I could love.As if by magic Peaky Blinders popped its head out of the sand and the love affair began.

Things are good, life is good. I don't worry anymore because life is short and we only get one chance and that chance is now. I always wanted a classic car, I always wanted nice suits, I always wanted to work with great musicians and I always needed to prove that it was me that made the difference to me. I now have a great team of performers and suppliers that trust me to supply them with the excitement I feel which excites them and in turn excites our clients. Its true, Passion rubs off and with it success is achieved.

Don't delay what you can do today. If you're not happy in what you do only you can change it.only you can generate the passion and excitement inside to make a difference to you.
