Helsinki Airport boosts compliance and passenger safety

Helsinki Airport is a busy transport hub, with a network of flights connecting Finland with cities across Europe, Asia and beyond.

Managing access in such a dynamic environment is a challenge.

This challenge extends to the control of access to cupboards, drawers and cabinets where travel documents are stored – in the spotlight after new EU guidance on logging access to these documents.

Previously, security for cabinets in Helsinki’s check-in area required airport managers to issue and track around 100 mechanical keys per airline.

It took time and was a distraction from other important tasks.

Smiths Detection provides screening solution for COP28

To handle the large number of attendees and goods, three types of X-ray solutions were deployed to ensure security before and during the event.

The HI-SCAN 6040 DV, an advanced dual view X-ray inspection system, automatically detected explosives and liquids.

Additionally, the HI-SCAN 100100T-2is and HI-SCAN 145180-2is scanners shortened inspection times and increased operational efficiency.

Over 100 machines were used in total, with the HI-SCAN 6040 DV being the most utilised.

i-PRO surveillance technology safeguards US school district

Murietta Valley Unified School District (MVUSD) serves 23,000 students and has nearly 4,000 employees.

According to i-PRO , the school district is comprised of 11 elementary schools, four middle schools and three comprehensive high schools.

Moreover, it is made up of two alternative high schools, one virtual, independent and homeschool academy and one adult transition school.

MVUSD conducted extensive research and formed a stakeholder team before opting to standardise its camera system with i-PROs solutions.
